Happy Holidays!

2 min read
Good afternoon.

I hope everyone's doing fine! :)

I only have a small update this time..
The first armor parts for Vi are finished.
It was my first time working with Plastazote and I really
love it already! It might not be as durable as I had hoped
(the paint will crack when bent too much) but I guess I
just have to be really careful then.

Or do you have any tips for that?
I've seen quite a few Iron Man suits made from the same
material. How do they keep it all nice?

I was basically following these steps for sealing and painting

Anyway, here's what I have so far:

Also:
I finally have a Facebook page now:

Since most of my friends use it as their main communication
platform these days, I thought I'll join aswell, as it'd be easier
to connect and share information.

Well then. I still have to bake some cookies before I'm off
to my old hometown and join my family and friends!

Happy Holidays, take care and see you next year! ;)

Oh wow.. Time flies!

Since it's already getting pretty cold outside, I spent
quite some time indoors.. and with my sewing machine.

I'm slow as usual, but at least I've got some progress
to show:

It's Vi from League Of Legends I've been working on
for the last couple of weeks, since I had some fabric left
to get started. I've never sewed a corset
before and I hate sewing pants, so this was quite a
challenge for me.. but I think I like where this is going
so far. Now I'm really looking forward to tackle the leg
armor and all that stuff!

I'm trying to stick with Paul Kwon's Concept Art for this
one, because I like his colour-scheme the most.

Aaah.. What a summer!

..Far too short but a great one nonetheless!
I've finally managed to clean out some stuff, got a desk
for my sewing machine and some motivation to actually
work on some stuff aswell.

Over the past few weeks I've been working on Revy's
winter/Japan outfit, but most of the time I spent looking
for reference pictures, helpful tutorials/pattern and
materials for other upcoming and planned costumes.
(Oh, how i looove that part of the process.. :meow:)

Anyway, today I finished Revy's skirt and remade some
parts of the holster. All that's left to do now, is to find
proper boots or - for the sake of money-saving - make
some boot covers:

..sorry for the bad picture quality - the light was terrible.
This is going to be the last costume for this year.
I'm going to stick with the non-jacket version, because
I'd rather move on to other costumes..

2014

For 2014 there is only one new costume pretty much certain
(this far): Yagyu Gisen from Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Girls.
I already started working on this one a couple of years ago,
but now I've got the opportunity to be part of a small group
next year and that really makes me want to finish it already!

Apart from that, I hope I'll be able to get some proper photos
of some of my older costumes.. especially Chloe Frazer and
Seras (with the Harkonnen this time).

2014 >>> TEH FUTURE *__*

Oh boy.. I have so many costumes in mind, planned
and even started, but I'm so terribly inconsistent - paired
with long days of procrastination - there is no way I can
foretell which costumes are coming next (except for Gisen).
But I can show you the list of my most-wanted costumes,
which are eventually bound to happen sooner or later:
(..in no particular order..)

How many do you recognize?
Can you name them all? :)

Well. Yeah. That's about it for now.

Thank you all for your constant encouragement,
have a nice evening and stay tuned for more progress
pictures of current and upcoming projects!

I'm still waiting for my Chloe Frazer wig to arrive and I
haven't found proper gloves for Seras in thrift stores yet,
so I continued working on something else: Revy from
Black Lagoon.
She's one of my all-time-favourite female characters.

My boyfriend and I recently started re-watching
Black Lagoon and I had almost everything I need for
this costume already at home - I just had to get started.

There isn't much I can show you right now but..

revyboots photo revyprogress_zps74f3a816.jpg

..I started making spats for the boots.
So. Many. Eyelets.

This is also a good point to present to you:
My working space! - Where all the props for my current
costumes are made. Yup, that tiny old chair in the picture.
Lara's ice axe was made on that chair. With much love.
I moved to Vienna earlier this year and I still haven't
gotten me a proper table.

So much for that.

I hope to have a few more updates soon!
Take care and have a nice evening! Cheers!

1st Journal entry! :D

Sooo.. since I (and pretty much everyone who knows me..)
consider myself quite a lazy person, this should
function both as a reminder/motivator for myself, aswell as a
chance to catch a glimpse of some of my current and future
costume projects.

My main focus right now is on the new Lara Croft.
As much as I love her first games, I'm really happy about
the reboot and the breath of fresh air for Lara and the
whole franchise.
At first I was a bit sceptical about the new shooting mechanics
because - quite honestly - I suck balls at shooters, but I was
surprised how quick I got accustomed to it.. and I had a blast!
It's actually one of the few games I finished playing to a 100%.
(Well, OK, I don't even want to know how many deer and
rabbits I killed for practice..)

Anyway, back to costumes.

This is what I have so far:

There is still a lot to make, but I'm slowly getting there.
Almost everything is completely made from scratch, except for
the pants, shirts and boots - but the pants were heavily altered.
I had to dye them three times to get anywhere near the
desired color. Sadly, the axe turned out somewhat too small
and I might redo that thing if I ever feel like it. If so, there'd be
the possibility of a tutorial if anyone would be interested.

My second big project is something I've already started
back in 2011: Seras Victoria from Hellsing (OVA Version)
Hellsing was the very first Manga I purchased several years ago
and I absolutely love the OVAs.
It's something I'm really looking forward to.

There are only a few details missing: the gloves, belt and
- of course - the Harkonnen.

The third and last one is Chloe Frazer from Uncharted 2.
She's already finished, but I'd like to change a few things
for the sake of accuracy.

Well. That's actually not all that much, isn't it?
If everything goes well, there might even be some time for
another little project.. something I just recently came across
and instantly fell in love with the design:
Catwoman from Batman of Shanghai
If you haven't seen it yet, make sure to check it out!
I honestly can't wait to tackle this one!
